Editor Asks for a Boycott . . .

Greetings, friend of Marcher Lord Press.

I haven't sent out an update in a while but things are going very well at Marcher Lord Press. The cover for "The Personifid Invasion" is mostly done and the cover for "Hero, Second Class" should be done in early May. Keep watching the site for them to magically appear...Lots of other developments, too. Including that fact that I'm already in the acquisitions process for list #2. Gotta get those babies in the pipeline.

The reason for this message is to ask you to consider a one-day boycott of On May 1, please consider not purchasing from Amazon. Here's why.Amazon is trying to put a squeeze on competitors in the print-on-demand (POD) industry. They're saying that any POD book not published through their POD company (BookSurge) cannot be sold on Amazon.

I'm planning to use one of their main competitors, LightningSource, to print Marcher Lord Press books--and I need them to be sold through Amazon--so this directly affects me. And you. Here's an article that talks about the United States Authors' Guild and others who are calling for this one-day boycott:

If you were thinking of purchasing something from Amazon on the 1st, please consider holding off until the 2nd. Thank you! Let's help send the message that they can't step on the little guy. Jeff Gerke

  1. I love Amazon. They've been great in so many areas. However...that stinks! I really don't like it when someone gets so big they think they can start dictating the rules in a free market.
