My father is a Marine who served on the front lines of Vietnam. He's seen things he wishes he could forget. Done things he wishes he didn't have to have done. Was sprayed directly with Agent Orange and has suffered severe health problems ever since, though you'll never hear him complain.
He did this in service of his country. In service of me and you. I'm so proud of him.
Novel Journey wants to thank all veterans who have risked their lives, lost their lives and served our country in whatever capacity they were asked to do.
We cannot thank you enough.
Readers, say a prayer today for our veterans and those still serving. They've done so much for us, this is one thing we can do for them.
Happy Veteran's Day!

Thank you so much, Gina. I agree! My grandfather enlisted in the Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. My father served in the Air Force, as did my husband, and my daughter is currently serving stateside in the Air Force Reserve.
ReplyDeleteLike all Veterans, they did, and are doing, all the hard work so I can sit back and enjoy my freedom. Veterans, we haven't forgotten. Thank you!
I'm thankful too! Your dad sounds like a great guy. :-)
ReplyDeleteDear God, bless all those serving and who have served. May they feel Your hand around them today and every day.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
Thanks for this post. God bless America.
Oh wow. The first two paragraphs had been hidden in Google Reader (perhaps I should learn to utilize the scroll bars??)Goodness, what your father went through. Please send him this family's thanks.
ReplyDeleteAmen. Please thank your father for me and my family, Gina. We have friends and family in Iraq and Afghanistan. We owe our freedom to those who served and are now defending us and keeping the terrorists at bay. God Bless those who've fought and are fighting for our freedom, in the Name of Jesus.
ReplyDeleteAmen and amen. My husband immigrated to America from England in 1964. He was drafted 6 months after he arrived, and even though he wasn't a citizen, he served in the U.S. Army and served proudly.
ReplyDeleteThe Mulligan family joins Novel Journey in thanking all those who have served to secure our freedom.
God bless you.
