Crosswalk recently sat down with Frank Peretti. It's a fantastic interview.
God willing, we too will be chatting with Mr. Peretti in the near future.
Read the crosswalk interview here, and if you have question ideas for Novel Journey's interview with him, you can leave them in the comments section under this post.

It was a good interview.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know if Frank would have ended up where Ted did. Frank said he wrote the first nine chaps and Ted went from there.
What he thinks Ted's greatest strengths are, and what he thinks his are.
How are their styles incompatible? How did working together become a frustration - did they have differences in plot, or character or pretty much everything?
Hey Gina, Peretti's "spiritual warfare" themes and imagery took the Christian world by storm. I'd like to ask him what dynamics were at work in the Church / world that caused this topic to take off. Why was This Present Darkness so popular? Secondly, the theme of spiritual warfare has become so mimicked / over-used that many publishers shy away from it. What does Mr. Peretti think about the current portrayal of spiritual warfare in the CBA? How should writers who want to address the topic proceed? Does he feel his books are too mimicked or that the issue is over-done? Blessings, Gina. Way to land the big one...
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know about this kid's show I keep hearing about. One of the parents at my church nearly fainted dead away when she found out the Frank Peretti who wrote all those creepy stories about evil and demons is the same guy teaching her kids to share with others.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'd like to hear more about how Frank learned the craft, and how he continues learning.
With his interest in writing and directing films, what does Mr. Peretti see for the future of Christian films? The quality and popularity of The Passion of the Christ seems like the exception rather than the rule in Christian film. While The End of the Spear was a step up in quality from the Left Behind films, it still had that low budget feel. Will films like The Visitation and Three be more of the same, or is the quality of the work continuing to advance.
ReplyDeleteThose our fantastic question ideas! I hope I'll get to ask them. When I interviewed Ted Dekker, I had a list of questions and barely touched on them because he was so passionate about the topic of Christian fiction. Great ideas folks, thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat questions everyone...Gina, you got your work cut out for you on this one..LOL..I don't know how I'll approach the up coming media campaign yet, but I definitely won't try an interview like you....I'm not that brave!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear how he balances his walk with God with his writing. Sounds like he's a very intentional fellow. I'd like to hear how he manages that. Thanks Gina!
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies. Great ideas! Hopefully this will happen. I appreciate the excellent questions!
ReplyDeleteGood question Ann, I want to know the same thing. I'd heard the rejection was even higher. I'll get to the bottom of it if things move ahead. Thx!
