Sigh—is anyone else out there wishing they could see BookExpo? Or are most of us glad we’ve got the weekend free to write--and who really wants to go look at the overwhelming competition anyway?
So this post is for those of us who chose to work on our novels instead walking around with tired feet in pinched shoes(--ha, it didn't work. I still wish I were there!)
Well at any rate, here’s a few places where you can visit to keep updated:
BookSelling This Week is reporting daily “Live.” For a Free Subscription to Bookselling This Week: Please fill out their subscription form at http://news.bookweb.org/services/56.html.
BookExpoCast: http://www.bookexpocast.com/. They’re not reporting live, but you’ll certainly learn here and there’s from the industry.
The BookMaven is updating daily: http://www.publishersweekly.com/blog/670000267.html
BookTv on C-span2 will cover the Keynote address by Thomas Friedman today at 11:00 PM (I assume EST) http://www.booktv.org/program.aspx?ProgramId=9487&SectionName=Politics&PlayMedia=No
And what probably will be the most interesting off, is this blog where the writer is going for the first time and planning to give their observations. http://francesdinkelspiel.blogspot.com/2008/05/book-expo-america.html

Hey Jess!
ReplyDeleteYou probably get a better overall view of BEA by using all of your resources listed! The show is hectic, it is impossible to see it all and it is hot weather! You really aren't missing all that much, I promise! Better to stay home and keep writing!
Thanks, anonymous!
