Proverbs 30:18-19
There are three things that amaze me—
no, four things that I don’t understand:
how an eagle glides through the sky,
how a snake slithers on a rock,
how a ship navigates the ocean,
how a man loves a woman. (NLT)

Are romance novels wrong for Christians to read? Are romantic songs wrong for Christians to listen to? Since God is love, I'm of the humble opinion, that He might be okay with a good many of them. This is my husband's birthday present to me. Nowhere does he mention the name of Christ, but can you hear God's heart beating inside his chest as he sings it?

That's a beautiful song, and you can hear his heart and God's in it. It reminded me of Song of Solomon for some reason. What a gift, Gina.
ReplyDeleteMy humble opinion, but if God were not pleased with romantic love, the Song of Solomon would not be in the Canon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ane and thanks for the card. Not quite as heart touching as Adam's song... but brought a smile to my lips. :) Agreed, Carrie.
ReplyDeleteLove the song and the scripture, Gina! And I vote "no" on your first two questions! I love romance novels and romantic songs! I even love chic flics! And since I've been married 40 years, I'm a firm believer in marriage. I think God loves romance, too--especially since He call the Church His Bride!!!
ReplyDeleteIs your husband a Beach Boy? Great song ... Apparently he's one of those guys who make the rest of us look bad? lol
ReplyDeleteHe is, Mike, as a matter of fact, at heart any rate. Funny because it's so different from his usual bar-tunes type music. My favorite of course!
