New Agent !!

Books & Such Literary Agency welcomes Mary Keeley to its agent team—which represents authors such as Debbie Macomber, Joanna Weaver, Robin Jones Gunn, Dale Cramer, Lori Copeland, and Lauraine Snelling—where she will represent clients who write adult fiction and nonfiction.

Keeley, a lifetime lover of books, still vividly remembers devouring a book about Pocahontas when she was a young girl. Action-packed with danger, disappointments, heroism, and a love story, the book taught Mary much about trust, friendship, self-sacrifice, and history without even working at it. The value of a good book was firmly impressed upon Keeley, and she now looks forward to representing those who pour their lives into writing.

Books & Such founder Janet Kobobel Grant said, “I've been wanting to add someone to our agency for a couple of years and knew, when Mary Keeley was suggested to me, that she exemplifies the qualities I had in mind: integrity, vision, belief in authors, an eye for a strong project, an eagerness to help others succeed, and a deep understanding of the publishing process as well as the publishing world. Books & Such and Mary Keeley make a good match.”

Keeley is a publishing industry veteran, having begun her career at Tyndale House Publishers, where she worked for eight years, serving as a product manager, an administrator, and a nonfiction acquisitions editor. Keeley developed a thorough understanding of the publishing process, working with Randy Alcorn, Joel Rosenberg, Chuck Colson, Josh McDowell, Gary Smalley, Dianne Matthews, and numerous others on multiple book projects. Four years at Christianity Today International (CTI) extended her knowledge of the industry to the fast-track world of magazine publishing. At CTI, she also spearheaded an author relations initiative for the long list of contributing editors of Leadership journal. The result is a unique and qualified experience that will complement the Grant team at Books & Such, which also includes Rachel Kent, Wendy Lawton, and Etta Wilson.
