Dead Reckoning Online Launch!!

Ronie Kendig has a BS in Psychology and is a wife, mother of four, and avid writer. Her novels include Dead Reckoning (March 2010, Abingdon Press) and Nightshade (JuLy 2010, Barbour Publishing), Book#1 in The Discarded Heroes series. Hey, y'all! I'm so excited! Today is First Monday, which just so happens to be my turn to blog here at NovelJourney. Instead of a thought-provoking or psychological post, I'm ecstatic to announce the release of my first novel, DEAD RECKONING, a break-neck paced espionage thriller. And I'm so tickled because Graceful Gina is allowing me to start an online launch party for DEAD RECKONING!

LET'S PARTY!!!

DEAD RECKONING: When Shiloh Blake’s first large-scale underwater archeological dig traps her in the middle of an international nuclear arms clash, she is forced to flee for her life into the streets of Mumbai, India. Is the man trailing her an enemy, or is he sent by her CIA father to protect her? Whoever he is, the only way to end this nightmare and prevent a nuclear meltdown is to join forces with former Navy SEAL Reece Jaxon.

Purchase DEAD RECKONING:

And be sure to catch the--

Hey. Sorry people. I need to hijack’s Ronie’s post. My name is Shiloh Blake. I have connections, and while they help in a situation like this, I really felt the need to put the knife to Ronie. Sorry. It’s just how I see things. Eye for an eye and all that. You see, Ronie thought she’d do something brilliant and pen a story about me and my life. She hasn’t got the first clue—

Shi, let it go. Remember why we’re here.

Okay, so that's Reece and he's a tad more logical than me. Can I help it if I’m a bit peeved? Moving on to the reason for this hostile takeover—his sister is missing.

I’m not sure what the legal ramifications are of what Ronie’s done, exposing our lives. That’s not something you want to do a covert operative or his family. Being the gracious people we are, we’re going to overlook her mistake. For now. As long as this mission is successful. Otherwise, you might want to call the authorities if you haven’t heard from Ronie in a while.

Anyway—here’s what we know: Ronie’s book Dead Reckoning has launched. People are reading. Geez. You’d think she would’ve been smarter with what she wrote. But she wasn’t and well, a few thugs figured out things about Julia. Wild, crazy Julia.

Now, she’s gone. Vanished right from the villa she shared with her new husband (they eloped—totally the way to go, if you ask me!). Okay, I could care less about the guy she married. I mean, don’t get me wrong—it’s not that I want anyone to die. But he didn’t exactly help me out when I needed it.

Shi, back to Jules.

Right. Julia . . . she’s a bit wild. Smart. Pretty. Direct, doesn’t sugar-coat things. Lethal wit.

I like her.

You know the type of person I’m talking about—all in your face. She really gave it to Reece . . . oh, sorry. Ronie won’t let me tell that part of the story (she’s squawking about royalties and how nobody will buy the book if I tell you everything. Hmm . . . that’s tempting, especially if we can’t get Julia back. Someone might want to warn Ronie now).

So here’s the deal: help us find Julia. Oh wait . . . hey, I think Ronie’s growing a conscience or something. She’s offering a reward for the person who helps us get Julia back on safe ground—nice little goodies like an iPod Nano, books, trinkets from India—

Hold up. Is she for real!?!? Julia’s life is at stake and she wants to offer trinkets?

Shi, give it a rest. We’re short on time. We need their help.

Fine. Fine. Okay, people—help us get Julia back. Being an operative isn’t easy. Some people play you and give you false information—disinformation is what it’s called. I think you’re smarter than that, or I wouldn’t have come here. I need people I can trust.

Shi! Check it out . . . an email just came through. It might be about Julia...I'm taking it Ronie's blog.

Okay, so Mission:Julia is in play. Head over to Ronie's blog. Find the clues & follow them. Hey, I can’t promise this is going to be easy. Most things worth fighting for aren’t. Use your brain, and report back to Ronie at her blog (have you noticed her blog is named Supernatural Craving—guess she’s already made peace with her maker . . . that could be useful). She’ll pass the clues to us so we can find Julia before it’s too late.

please note: MISSION: JULIA (M:J) is entirely based upon a work of fiction entitled Dead Reckoning by Ronie Kendig. No lives are in jeopardy, but if you thought so—imagine how awesome Dead Reckoning will read!
