Wanted: Industry Employment for Experienced Word Gal

Novel Journey good friend and advisor, Heather Tipton, is taking a leap of faith. This month she moves to Colorado Springs to seek a full-time job in Christian publishing--the industry she loves.

As a virtual assistant to numerous authors, Heather has helped them with everything from organizing large promotional mail-outs, to answering fan emails, transcribing notes, and writing promo copy for newsletters.

Heather started setting up blog tours before most people even knew what a blog tour was, using a network of bloggers to promote an author's new book. As the go-between for the author and the blogger, she made sure everything stayed on track.

Most recently, Heather has worked with a literary agent as her first reader for both fiction and non-fiction, winnowing stacks of proposals to separate the chaff from the submissions worthy of recommendation. She has honed her writing craft by attending the ACFW conference for the past five years. She has also attended the Colorado Christian Writers Conference for the past two years, taking classes and staffing the appointment desk.

Through all of these things, she's developed a good eye for the qualities that make a great book, and she has a keen sense of what will work in the marketplace.

If you're in a position to help a sister out, Heather can be reached at: heatherdianetipton@gmail.com
