DEADFALL . . . You know you want it.

Novel Journey is pleased to announce Robert Liparulo's Dead Fall giveaway. One person each day from November 4th through the 9th will be chosen from the day's commenters to receive an AUTOGRAPHED copy of Liparulo's Dead Fall.

The winners will be announced in our upcoming newsletter. You can sign up in the left side bar.

Deadfall follows four friends into the wilds of northern Canada, where they go to recharge after a particularly tough year. They run into a group of nasty young punks who are field testing a satellite laser cannon—and terrorizing a small town with it. The campers have to decide whether to run for their lives or help the townsfolk. It’s like an updating of Deliverance... without the hillbillies.

Dropped by helicopter into the Canadian wilderness, Hutch, Terry, Phil and David are looking to escape the events of a tumultuous year for two weeks of hunting, fishing and camping.

Armed only with a bow and arrow and the basics for survival, they’ve chosen a place far from civilization, a retreat from their turbulent lives. But they quickly discover that another group has targeted the remote region and the secluded hamlet of Fiddler Falls for a more menacing purpose: to field-test the ultimate weapon.

With more than a week before the helicopter rendezvous and no satellite phone, Hutch, a skilled bow-hunter and outdoor-survivalist, must help his friends elude their seemingly inescapable foes, as well as decide whether to run for their lives…or risk everything to help the townspeople.

An intense novel of character forged in the midst of struggle, survival, and sacrifice, Deadfall is highly-acclaimed author Robert Liparulo’s latest rivetingly smart thriller.

  4. Here's the deal. I'm 155 pages into the book.

WOW! I still haven't read Comes A Horseman...but Germ impressed me.

Deadfall is amazing so far. Am I gushing? Sorry.

If any of you are Monster fans - you are going to want to read this book. Liparulo fans...ditto.

My husband is patiently waiting for me to finish. He'll love it. Hunting, fishing, weapons...wow. I better stop before I actually write my review before I'm finished with it.

  5. Liparulo is not only one of, if not THE, best thriller writers of our day, he is one of the true nice guys in the business. This novel is coming up next as soon as I can get through the one I'm reading. Absolutely love Liparulo's work.

  6. What a quandry! I was riveted with "Comes A Horseman" and then picked up the hardcover of "germ" which I was going to wait until Thanksgiving break to read.

Now then, "Deadfall" has arrived and it sounds incredible.

Okay ... there's only one way to do this: eeny, meeny, miny, moe

That being said, Robert's writing wreaks havoc with my own craft productivity but sometimes a little diversion is just the thing to kickstart my own engine.

Thank you Robert for opening up the suspense/thriller door just a bit wider ...

  12. Hey, I'm from Canada. I lived for a few years just a few miles from Hope, where Rambo was filmed (my husband will never let me forget it).

I wonder which province the "wilds of Northen Canada" is located?

  13. Oooh, sounds intriguing... especially since I'm from Canada too! :) Though I wonder why we always get stereotyped as having so many "wilds" up north here. Would love to win it and may have to pass it on to my brothers...

  14. Thanks for having the giveaway.

I've been reading 'quiet' books lately and I'd love to read Dead Fall. It sounds like quite a thriller!

  15. Hi, all! Thanks for the kind words. I hope you like Deadfall. It's my personal favorite, so far.

The wilds of Northern Canada is near Stony Rapids in Saskatchewan. Been up there plenty of times, and while it's not the "ruggedness" of the Canadian Rockies, it's pretty isolated and unforgiving at times.

    Blessings!

    Robert
